Internet Marketing is more than just a fad. As a business, you can’t afford NOT to be on the Internet. At the very least, you have to have a website for people to take you seriously.
So what IS Internet Marketing anyway?
If marketing is the action or business of promoting and selling products or services, then internet marketing is simply doing it on the internet.
It actually makes marketing easier than ever before. Now the playing field is level and anyone who knows their stuff has a shot.
How can you be successful at internet marketing without hiring expensive services?
Become an EXPERT!
Don’t worry. It’s easier than you might think. You see, when you regularly answer the questions that your ideal clients ask, then you build a reputation as someone to turn to. Answer those questions well enough and often enough and you become a go-to source in your field.
1) Decide on a focus.
You may already have your niche pretty well defined. If you do, that’s awesome! If you don’t, then now is the time to do some soul searching.
Trying to be the solution to everyone’s problems is not the path to take with Internet Marketing. Don’t be afraid to zero in on one path.
2) Pick a topic
Once you know WHAT you are talking about, what do you say?
It’s best to talk about something interesting or something that’s a hot topic. When you create timely content that people are searching for, you’ll earn a great reputation. It doesn’t have to be stellar content. But it does have to be useful.
Don’t get hung up on whether you know EVERYTHING. An expert merely knows more than most other people.
3) Package your opinions
Think about how you like to communicate and how your audience likes to soak it in.
There are lots of ways to deliver your content. It can be as simple as your writing for your website or blog or as complicated as creating video.
The only limit to how many ways you can deliver content is your imagination. If you can think of it, chances are there is a way to create it. Have fun while you build a library for your market.
4) Get your content found
When you create blogs, videos, and other content, you’ll probably use many of the words that people will be Googling as you deliver your presentation. Include those words as your keywords when you post the item online. That way, the search engines will pick up your content.
Make sure to keep your content FRESH. Even if you write the PERFECT blog article, after a few weeks, your article will stale and won’t show up as high on a Google search.
The most important thing to remember about Internet Marketing is that it isn’t so much about the latest, greatest tools. If you don’t have solid content and a way to keep your audience engaged, you can spend all the time and money in the world on the latest greatest software, gadgets, and tools and it won’t make a bit of difference.
So take the time to build a solid foundation of functional, practical content. And remember to keep your niche or focus in mind.
You’ll be glad you invested a little time along the way when you reap the massive harvest that comes with being an Unmistakable Expert in your field!
